Space to breathe, right on the edge of town
Sir Joseph Banks Country Park is the largest of our sites and where the Trust began. It brings together Westgate Wood, Jenny's Wood and Oak Wood with a wildflower meadow, spinneys, ponds and tree-lined avenues.
There are over 4km of all-weather paths and plenty of seating throughout, so you can stroll a short loop or spend the whole morning exploring. In summer, paths are mown through the meadow to give access to the wildflowers.
Dogs and nesting birds. Please keep dogs on a lead on the meadows from March to July to protect ground-nesting birds. Please always clean up after your dog.

What to see and do
Westgate, Jenny's and Oak Woods
Three woods linked by paths and avenues. Westgate Wood is where the Trust began its work in 2001.
Restored ponds
With Froglife, we restored the ponds at Jenny's Wood in 2025. They are already home to dragonfly and damselfly nymphs, diving beetles and smooth newts, and were a hit with families at our pond dipping day.
Wildflower meadow
A wildflower meadow of native flowers, with paths mown through it in summer. Growing Wild, one of the few native wildflower seed suppliers in the UK, has harvested seed from this meadow.
Orienteering and trim trail
Two orienteering trails with maps available, plus a trim trail circuit between West End Road and Five House Lane.
Lincolnshire Road Victims Memorial
An oak shelter, memorial and circular wildflower garden in the meadow beside Westgate Wood, a quiet place to remember. The Trust maintains it, and plaques can be arranged through us.
Seats, carvings and avenues
Look out for dedicated seats, perch seats, carved sculptures and named avenues, many sponsored by local people and businesses. Sponsor one yourself.
