Open every day
All our sites are freely accessible daily. There are no gates to lock and no entry fees.
Made for walking
Over 8km of all-weather paths across our sites, with plenty of seating at Sir Joseph Banks Country Park.
Dogs welcome (mostly)
Dogs are welcome at our woods but not in the nature reserve at Dion's Wood.
Fire safety: there are NO fires, BBQs, smoking or naked flames at any of our sites, at any time of year. In dry weather the woods and meadows become tinder dry and the smallest spark can start a fire. A previous fire destroyed at least twenty young trees.

Please help us look after the woods
Please do
- Respect other visitors and the wildlife
- Clean up after your dog and use the bins provided
- Keep dogs on a lead on the meadows from March to July, when birds are nesting on the ground
- Keep to the paths in the nature reserve
- Tell us if you spot a problem, such as a fallen tree or damage
Please don't
- Light fires or barbecues, smoke or use naked flames
- Bring dogs into Dion's Wood Nature Reserve
- Park overnight in our car parks
- Plant non-native plants or introduce anything to the woods
- Leave memorial items or ornaments in the woods without asking
- Leave dog mess. Failure to clean up can result in a £100 penalty
Looking to remember someone? Speak to us about a dedicated seat, tree or memorial so that it can be done properly.
Getting around
Our main sites have all-weather paths for walkers and cyclists: over 4km at Sir Joseph Banks Country Park, 3km at Dion's Wood and 1.6km at the green burial site, with plenty of seating at Sir Joseph Banks Country Park.
Paths through the meadows are mown in summer. If you have specific access needs and would like to talk through a visit, please contact us.
