Volunteer with us

Our volunteers do everything, from planting young trees to picking litter. Come and join the team.

What we do

A morning in the woods

Our volunteers work three mornings a week on a range of seasonal activities, and there is something for every level of fitness. Depending on the time of year you might be:

  • Planting young trees and wildflowers
  • Mulching and pruning
  • Thinning woodland and moving timber for habitat management
  • Restoring ponds and planting them up
  • Litter picking and cleaning seats

Prefer something lighter? Our Easy Crew takes on gentler jobs at a relaxed pace. You don't need to be an expert either: experienced volunteers will show you the ropes and how to use tools safely.

Get in touch: ring Steve and Claire on 01205 723954, call Steve on 07759 087479, or send us a message.

In a volunteer's words
"What I value most is learning directly from experienced volunteers like Steve and the team. I have gained confidence in using tools safely, working as part of a team, and understanding why certain trees are selectively removed to improve woodland health."Amal Biju, Sustainability and Environmental Management student

Volunteering is a great way to stay active, meet people and give something back, and we are also happy to host students and people looking for practical woodland experience.
