Privacy policy

Last updated: September 2026

This policy explains how The Boston Woods Trust ("we", "us") uses personal information collected through this website. We are a registered charity (no. 1090420) and a registered company (no. 4282455), and we are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect

If you use the contact form we collect the details you give us: your name, email address, telephone number (optional), the topic of your enquiry and your message. We do not ask for anything else, and we do not collect payment details on this website.

How we use it

We use your details only to reply to your enquiry and, where relevant, to arrange things you have asked us about, such as green burial information, volunteering or sponsorship. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us, and, where you ask us to take steps before an agreement such as a reservation, that request.

Who processes your information

Contact form messages are delivered to us by Formspree (Formspree, Inc.), an online form service that processes them on our behalf and may store them and transfer them outside the UK. Donations made via the "Donate" button are handled by GoFundMe on its own website under its own privacy policy. Fonts on this website are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google's servers.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry messages for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete them. Records relating to green burial plots, memberships or sponsorships are kept for as long as the arrangement continues.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, or restrict or object to our use of it. To do so, email info@bostonwoods.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

This website links to other websites, including funeral directors, funders and GoFundMe. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
